Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got married on Saturday in a drive-through chapel in the wee hours of the morning in Las Vegas, putting an end to a relationship that spanned two decades, encompassed two separate romantic relationships, and was featured in a lot of magazine covers.
Lopez announced the couple’s wedding on Sunday in an email to fans that she sent with the subject line “We did it.” Lopez made the happy news of their engagement public for the first time in the “On the J Lo” newsletter in April.
“Love is a beautiful thing. It’s great to be loved. As it turns out, love is something that requires patience. Twenty years of dogged determination, “Jennifer Lynn Affleck’s signature was included on a telegram delivered by Lopez.
The pair were married in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, which boasts a drive-through “tunnel of love,” according to Lopez. On Saturday, the couple went to Las Vegas, waited in line with four other couples to get their license, and then married at the chapel.
Lopez said the music accompanying their brisk walk down the aisle was played on a Bluetooth speaker. She referred to it as the two having the most fantastic night ever.
Lopez continued by saying that if you wait long enough, “you might find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning with your kids and the one you’ll spend the rest of your life with,” adding that this could happen.
After the Clark County clerk’s office in Nevada announced on Sunday that the pair had received a marriage license on Saturday, the news of the couple’s wedding became public on the following day, Sunday.
Lopez intends to change her name to Jennifer Affleck, according to the marriage license application. Representatives for Lopez and Affleck have declined to comment on the matter.

They made their debut in the film Gigli in 2003 and then appeared in Jersey Girl in 2004. Affleck tied the knot with Jennifer Garner in 2005, and the couple now has three children together. They finalized their divorce in 2018.
