There is not much of a connection between the story of the Resident Evil video game and the movie starring Milla Jovovich that has the same name.

How Will Ada Wong Play a Role in Season 2 of Resident Evil?
Albert Wesker sacrifices himself to allow Bert, Billie, and Jade to escape Umbrella’s complex and gated neighborhood at the end of the 2022 timeline.
Before Albert blows up the laboratory, he gives his daughters a message telling them to find someone. Ada Wong is the person the Wesker brothers and Bert are searching for, as revealed in a later scene.
Ada Wong is a spy who first appears in Resident Evil 2, where she was tasked with stealing a G-Virus sample. While we do not meet Ada Wong in the season finale, she will undoubtedly appear in Season 2 in some manner.
In the games, Ada was hired by “the organization,” an Umbrella firm referred to as “the organization’s umbrella.”
Eventually, the firm would merge with Tricell, a pharmaceutical company implicated in the plaga outbreak that occurred in Kijuju, a pivotal occurrence in Resident Evil 5.
Tricell was not mentioned in the episode, but if the game’s lore is any indication, Tricell will likely not exist in 2022. In Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Claire Redfield states that the company is no longer in existence.

Status of Resident Evil Season 2 Renewal
Resident Evil has not yet been renewed by Netflix for a second season, and it is too early to predict the show’s fate.
