Rose is a half-vampire guardian who has been taught to protect powerful royal vampires like Lissa, and Lissa is one of the elites that Rose is supposed to defend.

The first episode of the series takes place when the characters are nearing the end of their studies at St. Vladimir’s Academy and are ready to join the elite of the vampire community.

But as they go, they find themselves caught up in forbidden loves and in conflict with the Strigoi, who are vicious and lethal vampires intent on transforming Lissa into one of them.

The friendship between two young ladies in a world of privilege and glitter transcends their drastically different classes as they prepare to complete their schooling and enter vampire society.

The story takes place in a world that is both privileged and glamorous. One as a powerful Royal, and the other as a Guardian, a half-vampire who has been educated to protect against the vicious “Strigoi” who threaten to rip their civilization apart.

Both of these roles are important in the story. That is, provided the royal family’s feuding doesn’t end up killing each other first.
