Early Years
Amy Adams was born in Vicenza, Veneto, Italy on August 20, 1974. At the time of her birth, her father was serving in the military and had recently relocated the family to Italy. They were stationed at the military complex of Caserma Ederle.
Eight-year-old Amy’s family relocated to Castle Rock, Colorado when she was eight years old. After leaving the military, her father began singing professionally in nightclubs. Adams has cited attending her father’s gigs and sipping Shirley Temples as some of her best childhood memories.

Career
In the mid-1990s, Adams began her career in the entertainment industry by playing in dinner theaters across the country, before earning modest roles on television and in films. Before she could perform on stage as a dancer, she was compelled to wait tables.
She found a position at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater in Minneapolis, where she performed for the following three years. Adams has described the profession as arduous, and she has sustained numerous injuries during her years in the theater.
