Release Date
As was indicated earlier, filming for season three began almost immediately following the conclusion of season two. This was a challenging schedule for everyone involved, but especially for Patrick Stewart.
Following the conclusion of the second season, everyone’s favorite captain confirmed in an interview with Variety that production for the third season was completed in March of 2022.
Five weeks later, Sir Patrick revealed that he was “still healing from it,” which fills us with a great deal of anticipation for what’s to come.
Sir Patrick described the battle as “quite intense.” “We began filming season three at the same time each day, which was seven o’clock in the morning.
Season two was closed up at seven o’clock in the evening, and we started shooting season three at seven o’clock the following morning. And I believe it stayed like that for a total of thirteen months. I am certain that it has been longer than a year.”
When we take into account the amount of time needed for post-production and the release schedules of past seasons, we estimate that the series will premiere on television screens sometime around the beginning of 2023.
What is the Plot of Picard Season 3?
After the conclusion of the second season, Patrick Stewart gave an interview to EW in which he dropped a few hints about how the Next Generation crew will return for the third season:
We will run into them, but this in no way constitutes a reassembling of the group. It’s not just a reunion.
Everyone serves a purpose, and that’s really all I’m permitted to say about it at this point because what’s going to happen in the third season is going to be really fascinating.
And of course, a significant portion of it will focus on the development of the characters that we have been familiar with for such a long time.
Although more particular plot details are still unknown at this time, Stewart did hint that the upcoming third season could be the most intriguing of them all:
“I do remember one of the things that I said when I read for the first time the finale of season two, and it was, ‘Where the hell are we going to go from here?’
I can still remember saying that. due to the fact that it almost appeared as though there was a finish.
“For a fleeting minute, the thought crossed my mind, ‘Oh no, are we going to be finished ahead of schedule, and the program will be canceled?’ But we did not.
And season three, in many ways, proved to be among the most engaging episodes and moments that we had throughout the entirety of the show.
But beyond that, what does the future have in store for us? The words made by Sir Patrick, appear to put a complete halt on the world after the conclusion of the last set of episodes.
During an interview with Variety, he stated, “I suppose that Picard has delivered his last phrase and given his last look at his comrades.”
“I believe that the way we wrap up the third season is just right. Perfect. When I think about it, I can’t help but feel emotional, but it’s a wonderful thing.
