The relationship between Yasmin (Marisa Abela) and Harper (Myha’la Herrold) begins to slide downward.
Harper asks Yasmin why she was conversing with her employer, Daria, and Yasmin reassures her that her achievement should not detract from Harper’s, stating that Harper’s relationship is the finest thing that has ever happened to her at Pierpoint.
Clearly, Harper does not share the same sentiments. When executive Bill brings Harper to a meeting with her disgraced employer Eric (who had her imprisoned in a meeting room), he wants her to withdraw her claim and strongly indicates that doing so will benefit her.
When offered the position by the executive Sara, Harper expresses her desire to alter the company culture.
When Yasmin walks over to Harper’s desk to rejoice in the next scene, it becomes evident that Harper has betrayed Daria to give Eric his job back.
Harper informs Yasmin that Daria has left and Eric is returning, which infuriates Yasmin, who labels Harper ridiculous and selfish. Harper responds by describing her as “weak and a f*cking hypocrite.”
In the dying moments, Harper opens the notebook Yasmin gave her as a gift, which contains the phrase “Here’s to our future, Love, Yasmin.”
