The allegations that Ne-Yo recently fathered a child with another woman have prompted Ne-wife Yo to file for divorce.

Crystal Smith, who was married to the artist Ne-Yo (full name: Shaffer Chimere Smith) in 2016, reportedly filed divorce papers in Atlanta this week, just a few days after accusing the musician of infidelity in public. Multiple news agencies reported on this development.

According to the docs that were obtained by Us Weekly, Smith stated that the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and that there is “no prospect for reconciliation.” Smith and the “Because of You” star are parents to three children together.

In addition to the fact that he stated, “recently fathered a young child with his paramour,” which is an allegation that he “committed the act of adultery,” is what she says he did.

Smith noted that she has been caring for their children, Isabella Rose, 1, Roman Alexander-Raj Smith, 4, and Shaffer Chimere Jr., 6, since the couple officially ended their relationship on July 22, and she provided the date as the official date of separation.

She is requesting primary physical custody of the children, joint legal custody, child support, and alimony. She also wants joint legal custody of the children.

In addition, Madilyn Grace, age 11, and Mason Evan, age 9, are Ne-children Yo’s with his ex-girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw.

The soon-to-be exes’ marriage was fraught with conflict for its entirety. In the year 2020, he submitted a petition for divorce, stating that the marriage had “irretrievably broken down.”

The request was subsequently retracted, and he gave gratitude to the COVID lockdown for its role in facilitating their reconciliation.

In 2021, they became parents to their third child, and in April of that same year, they participated in an elaborate ceremony to recommit themselves to one another in marriage.

Over the course of the weekend, Smith ended their relationship for the third time and used Instagram to make the accusation that her spouse had been unfaithful to her throughout their whole time together.

She claimed that it had been eight years of lying and dishonesty. “I have unintentionally shared my life and my husband for the past eight years with a number of other women who have sold their bodies to him without any protection. It would be an understatement to say that I’m heartbroken and disgusted by what happened.

It is completely absurd to suggest that I continue living here and tolerate it.” She said that their time together was nothing but “wasted years and heartache,” except the time spent raising their children.”

On social media, Ne-Yo provided his response, in which he stated, “For the sake of our children, my family and I will work through our issues behind closed doors,” and he asked his fans for privacy during this difficult time.

The rumored paternity of a second child has not been addressed in the singer’s public statements as of now. Yahoo has attempted to get in touch with his representative, and if we receive a response, we will amend this article accordingly.
