Ciampa Dedicates His US Title Shot To WWE Hall of Famer Tonight On Raw!
When Ciampa first moved to Eldon, Missouri in 2008 in order to train with Race at the Harley Race Academy, he did so under the guise of a “lost twenty-two-year-old kid.” At the time, he had just been released from his WWE developmental contract.
Ciampa explained this in an in-depth post that he published on his Instagram. He admitted that he was suffering from despair and lacked self-assurance in his abilities.
Ciampa shared that relocating to a new city was one of the scariest things he’d ever done, but he knew he had to force himself to get out of his comfort zone and try something new.
“Harley is not one to put up with bullshit. Respect is warranted simply by being in his presence; I was aware of this fact the instant I made his acquaintance.
On the other hand, when the hours turned into days, the weeks into months, and the months into years, I came to realize that Harley possessed a pure and noble heart. Not only did he care about his students within the ring, but he also cared about them outside of it.
During the course of his time there, Ciampa accumulated a few recollections that particularly stuck out to him, and he shared some of them. He stated that he will make every effort to attend the training sessions so that he and Race could view old wrestling videos together.
He stated that Race would be willing to participate in this activity with him on occasion. Ciampa did not say anything noteworthy in comparison to those times spent studying.
He also remembered the Thanksgiving of that year, when he had invited his pupils over to his house for a home-cooked feast because many of them were unable to afford to spend the holiday with their families and couldn’t afford to travel home for the holiday.
Ciampa stated that Race’s faith in him as a man and performer gave him the freedom to make mistakes, gain wisdom from those experiences, and increase his level of self-assurance.
He claimed that Race had a significant influence on him, not just in his professional life but also in his personal life. Ciampa has stated that he could not be the person he is now without the guidance of his mentor.
He expressed his appreciation for the time he was able to spend with Race and thanked him for everything he had done for him before Race’s passing in 2019 and said that he was thankful for the time he had spent with Race.
