Early Years
Mike Lindell was born Michael James Lindell in Mankato, Minnesota, on June 28, 1961. He began gambling as a child and grew up in Carver and Chaska, Minnesota.
Mike enrolled at the University of Minnesota after graduating from high school, but he dropped out a few months later.
In his twenties, Lindell developed a cocaine addiction, and in the 1990s, he began using crack. His drug habit and gambling debts resulted in the divorce of his first wife and the repossession of his home.
In 2008, Mike’s drug addiction was so serious that his crack dealers staged an intervention. According to Lindell, “They were three of the city’s largest merchants. They stated that I had been awake for 19 consecutive days.

Career
Mike established many small enterprises in Minnesota during the 1980s, including bars, restaurants, and a carpet cleaning company.
Inventing the My Pillow pillow in 2004, he sold it at trade exhibitions, mall kiosks, and state fairs for the next four years. In 2009, he founded My Pillow, Inc., and the company took off following its first infomercial in 2011.
The production of the 30-minute program cost $500,000, and it aired an average of 200 times every day. Lindell stated concerning the infomercial, “It was the most popular infomercial in the world. We went from five employees to 500 in forty days.”
At its peak, the company reportedly generated $280 million in annual revenue, and as of this writing, it had sold more than 50 million pillows and employed more than 1,600 individuals.
The Better Business Bureau removed My Pillow, Inc.’s accreditation in 2017 owing to customer complaints, and the company’s grade was downgraded to an F.
In 2020, Mike named his son Darren CEO of the company, and by 2021, many merchants no longer carried My Pillow products.
Lindell says that stores stopped selling his products due to his claims of voting fraud in the 2020 election. However, a Bed Bath & Beyond spokeswoman stated that My Pillow was one of many “underperforming items and brands” that the retailer discontinued.
It was stated in March 2021 that Mike would establish a social media network named Vocl that would combine Twitter and YouTube.
Due to a conflict with a corporation that had launched a website called Vocal, he changed his name to Frank. Lindell spent four years developing Frank, which was released in April 2021 despite several technological problems.

The “Daily Mail” reported in early 2021 that Mike started a nine-month romance with actress Jane Krakowski in late 2019.
The representative for Krakowski disputed the accusation, stating, “Jane has never met Mr. Lindell. She is not and has never been in a romantic or otherwise intimate relationship with him.”

Political Activities
In August 2016, after meeting the then-presidential candidate, Lindell became a Trump supporter. Later, Mike stated, “When I met with Donald Trump, it felt like a heavenly appointment, and when I left his office, I resolved to go all in.”
Lindell attended both the last presidential debate and Trump’s inauguration, and he has given speeches at Trump rallies and the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference.
In 2019, he met with Trump to discuss opioid addiction, and he was present at the signing of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, which addressed opioid use disorder.
At the behest of the Trump administration, Mike temporarily shifted the focus of the My Pillow factory from bedding products to face masks at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Around this time, Lindell spoke at a White House COVID-19 press conference and was appointed the 2020 re-election campaign chair for Trump in Minnesota.

After Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 election, Lindell sponsored a bus for a two-week tour to challenge the election results, and he spoke at a few tourist sites.
He also attended the protest preceding the January 6 attack on the capital, but he claims he was not present during the uprising.
However, he did disseminate conspiracy theories claiming Antifa was responsible for the incident and that they were likely “dressed as Trump supporters.”
Mike has also promoted conspiracy theories that the Smartmatic and Dominion voting system firms collaborated with foreign forces to manipulate their devices and steal the election, prompting Dominion to file a lawsuit against him for $1.3 billion.
In January 2021, Lindell was permanently banned from Twitter due to his bogus accusations. Mike hosted a three-day “Cyber Symposium” in August 2021 to deliver “irrefutable proof” of voter fraud, which he never presented.
Bonner County, Idaho, began a recount of 2020 election ballots in September 2021, after Lindell claimed that more than 40 Idaho counties had been hacked. Mike will be billed for the cost of the recount.
