They played characters on “iCarly” that were rivals in real life, but closest friends on the program. Despite the fact that they are no longer working together on the show, Jennette McCurdy and Miranda Cosgrove maintain a strong friendship in real life.

McCurdy commented on her longtime connection with Cosgrove, with whom she co-starred on the Nickelodeon comedy from 2007 until 2012, prior to the publishing of her memoir, titled “I’m Glad My Mom Died.” The show ran from 2007 through 2012.

McCurdy, who portrayed the grumpy sidekick Sam on the television show “iCarly,” stated this week on “Entertainment Tonight” that she loves Miranda “to pieces.” “I steadfastly will.

My heart will always have a very special place for her. She assisted me in maturing as a person and regaining my health, and I hope that I was able to do the same for her. Simply said, I have a lot of love for her.”

In her recently published memoir, McCurdy discusses her time spent working as a child actor on Nickelodeon as well as the alleged physical and emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her late mother.

McCurdy credited Cosgrove, who had previously appeared on the sitcom “Drake and Josh,” with keeping her afloat during her time on set, even though her time there was often a terrible one.

McCurdy says in her books that her connection with Miranda has been a source of “camaraderie and emotional support.” She refers to their relationship as “distinct and special.”

According to McCurdy’s writing, she cried during the filming of the final episode of “iCarly” because she was worried about “what will become of (her) friendship with Miranda.”

She states in her writing that “with Miranda, it’s always been so effortless.” “There is no guile in our friendship.”

McCurdy said to “ET” that even though the two are no longer “joined at the hip,” they continue to communicate with one another. Cosgrove attempted to persuade McCurdy to participate with her in the reboot of “iCarly” that will air on Paramount+.

However, McCurdy, who had already retired from the acting industry, rejected to come back.
McCurdy stated that she “can’t wait for (Cosgrove) to read” her memoir, which devotes a significant portion of its content to their friendship.

Despite the fact that the two former child stars have pursued different career paths, McCurdy stated that she “can’t wait for (Cosgrove) to read” her memoir. “I think she’ll really enjoy it,” she said in an interview with “ET.”

Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande’s Controversy

It would appear that stars Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy were not close friends in real life, despite the fact that their characters in the film “Sam and Cat” were the closest of friends.

The Nickelodeon sitcom features Cat Valentine (Grande) and Sam Puckett (McCurdy), two characters who would have never met in a million years but end up being roommates and business partners. The show is based on the success of the series “iCarly” and “Victorious.”

The opening episode of “Sam and Cat” was watched by 4.2 million people, making it the highest-rated new series to debut on the network in recent memory (via The Wrap).

Cat’s personality can be described as gentle, innocent, and sometimes dopey, which is a great contrast to Sam’s caustic and sometimes cruel persona. The two run into characters from the television shows “iCarly” and “Victorious,” and they also make a large number of new pals along the way.

Despite the popularity of the program, “Sam and Cat” was put on indefinite hold in April of 2014 and was ultimately terminated in July of the same year (via Deadline).

Fans were made to believe that there may have been animosity between Grande and McCurdy because of stories that circulated around the end of the event suggesting that the backstage relationship between Grande and McCurdy was part of the reason why the show was canceled.
