Emily Blunt has been cast with actor Ryan Gosling and director David Leitch in the next action film about a stuntman titled The Fall Guy, which will be distributed by Universal.
The beloved television show of the same name from the 1980s served as the basis for the upcoming film adaptation.

Fall Guy was created by the prolific TV producer Glen A. Larson, whose output ranged from Battlestar Galactica to Magnum P.I. Glen A. Larson was responsible for the creation of Fall Guy.
Douglas Barr played the role of his sidekick, while Heather Thomas was a co-star in the film in the role of a fellow stunt actor.
Between the years 1981 and 1986, the show aired on ABC. Additionally, Leitch and his business partner Kelly McCormick are producing the Universal picture under the 87North banner.
The screenplay was written by Drew Pearce, who previously collaborated with Leitch on Universal’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
Pearce also acts as an executive producer for the film. Gosling will also serve in the capacity of producer alongside Guymon Casady, the latter of whom will do so via Entertainment 360, the content production division of Management 360.
Geoff Shaevitz and Glen A. Larson, who created the original series, will also serve in an executive producing capacity. The film is scheduled to begin production in Australia during the fall of the current year, and it is anticipated that it will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
