The rap artist A$AP According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Rocky was charged on Monday with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, with allegations of personally using a firearm, in connection with a shooting that took place in California the previous year.
It is alleged that Rocky personally used a firearm during the incident.
On November 6, 2021, two persons were arguing in the Hollywood neighborhood of the city when, according to the police, the argument became more heated, and the rapper allegedly shot a revolver.
According to the authorities, the guy who was shot only had a minor injury and subsequently sought medical treatment.
The rapper was taken into custody in April at Los Angeles International Airport, and he was subsequently freed after posting a bond in the amount of $550,000.
“Displaying a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person who was targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” George Gascón, the district attorney for LA County, said in a statement.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences.”
“After conducting an exhaustive investigation into the available information in this matter, my office came to the conclusion that the addition of a specific firearm charge was appropriate.”
CNN has attempted to contact A$AP Rocky’s agents for comment but has not yet received a response. Early on in the year, the famous musician and his longtime companion, the pop diva Rihanna, became parents for the first time.
Wednesday at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center is the day that A$AP Rocky is scheduled to appear for his arraignment.
