The Haunting Season 3 Release Date: What Exactly Occurred in Season3?

Although a third season of The Haunting is not currently in the works, Mike Flanagan is open to returning to the show in the future if the right circumstances arise.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about his upcoming limited-series Midnight Mass, Flanagan revealed that he and his producing partner Trevor Macy would have to locate the excellent work of literature that would be consistent with the themes of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor to revive the series.

In response to the question of whether there were any current plans for a third season of The Haunting, Flanagan reiterated what he had already said in December: regrettably, a third The Haunting anthology is not in his busy schedule.

However, Flanagan added that if he and Macy managed to locate the excellent work of literature, a third season might eventually occur. In Flanagan’s words, one aspect of the Haunting anthology “that defines it for me is that both of them so far are about updating and riffing on existing classic literature.”

The first episode, The Haunting of Hill House, was released on Netflix on October 12, 2018. Despite the show’s popularity, Netflix did not renew it until February 2019.

Despite taking four months to secure a renewal, the second installment, The Haunting of Bly Manor, was released on the same day the following year, October 9, 2020.

Season 3’s premiere date will be determined by various factors, including how quickly the show is renewed and how many creators Mike Flanagan will be involved. Unlike Bly Manor, Flanagan directed only the first episode of Hill House.

What Exactly Occurred in The Haunting Season3?

Dani’s sacrifice lifted the curse that Viola Willoughby had placed on Bly Manor. After allowing Viola to live in their bodies, all Bly Manor’s ghosts, including Peter, Rebecca, and Hannah, were eventually allowed to leave.

The survivors of Bly Manor made every effort to resume their lives. Owen opened a restaurant in Hannah’s honor, and Lord Henry immigrated to America with Miles and Flora. Miles and Flora have no recollection of what happened at the Bly Manor; it was revealed when the three survivors met at Owen’s restaurant.

Dani had a happy marriage with Jaime despite having Viola inside of her. Along with moving to America, the couple opened a floral shop. But as time passed, Dani’s self-control deteriorated. When she awoke one night, she had Jaime’s neck in her grasp.

She chose to flee for fear of upsetting the woman she loves, leaving Jaime to search in vain for her. Jaime’s search led her back to Bly Manor, located at the bottom of the lake. There, she witnessed Dani’s terrible fate.

Dani is the new Lady of the Lake, taking over for Viola. She begged Dani to take her soul to be with Dani forever. Dani, on the other hand, would never claim a single soul, unlike Viola. Dani will share Viola’s fate and lose who she is and the memories she cherishes.

Before the show’s conclusion, we learn that Flora, the bride of the wedding she is attending, is now 30 years old and that the story’s narrator is an older Jaimie. The visitors also turned out to be older versions of Owen, Miles, and Henry.

Jaime returned to her hotel room and opened the door a crack. She fills the bath and sinks with water, hoping Dani will go outside and look for her. Jaime sat back in a chair and closed her eyes, scanning the area for any signs that the love of her life might be nearby.

After many long years of waiting, we finally see Dani’s hand on Jaime’s shoulder. This shows that Dani still cares about and thinks about Jaime, dispelling Viola’s curse with the strength of love.
