Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai) warmed our hearts ten years ago with a story of love, healing, and friendship.
The anime, directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada, tells the story of a group of friends who had grown apart but reconnected when the ghost of one of their deceased friends appeared one summer.
More than 800,000 people voted 8.35/10 for the anime on MyAnimeList, which is still one of the most popular anime of all time. A-1 Pictures produced the first season of the anime.
Ten years after the first season, fans are finally treated to a second story. Does this imply that there will be a season two? The following is what we know.
Will ‘Anohana’ Season 2 Happen?

The announcement of a sequel story was made on the official website of the anime ‘AnoHana: The Flower We Saw,’ which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. On the other hand, rather than being a series of anime episodes as we had anticipated, it will be a staged reading.
The events of the sequel story take place ten years after the events of the first season of ‘AnoHana,’ and it shows what became of our characters in the intervening years.

Who Are the Anohana Cast Members and Characters?
- Jinta “Jintan” Yadomi
Jinta is the leader of the group known as the Super Peace Busters. He used to be a cheerful, outgoing child, but after Menma died, he stopped talking to others and stayed home.
Mutsumi Tamura and Tara Sands provided voices for the character’s younger self in the Japanese and English dubs. Jinta’s teen version was dubbed in Japanese and English by Miyu Irino and Griffin Burns.
- Meiko “Menma” Honma
Menma, a young woman, was both Russian and Japanese. She died when she was young. Jinta noticed older-looking ghosts of herself on a hot summer day. Even though Meiko knows she has died, she remains cheerful and talkative. In both the Japanese and English dubs, the characters were voiced by Ai Kayano and Xanthe Huynh.

What Will “Anohana season 2” Plot Entail?
In the anime series “AnoHana,” viewers watch as a group of childhood friends become estranged after one of their number, Meiko “Menma” Honma, is killed in an accident.
Five years after the terrible event, the group leader, Jinta Yadomi, pulls away from the community and lives a reclusive life.
The apparition of an older-looking Menma materialized beside him one day during the summer; after that, everything changed. The ghost pleaded with Jinta, asking that her wish be granted.
Because she has not satisfied this condition, she will be denied access to the afterlife. Jinta was convinced that he was only dreaming, so he didn’t put much effort into trying to help her. Menma has, alas, lost track of what she desired.
As a result, Jinta calls on his long-lost friends to assist him in finding a solution to the problem. The decision was made to offer assistance even though some of the group’s members were skeptical about his motivations.

Jinta is the only one who can see Menma’s ghost, so his friends think he hallucinated and could not come to terms with Menma’s passing. As a direct consequence of this, Menma is compelled to expose herself to the other members to prove that she is being genuine.
When the group members try to assist Menma in crossing over to the other side, they express their feelings freely and let go of the guilt and resentment they have harbored for a long time about his passing.
When Will ‘Anohana’ Season 2 Be Available?
Even though Season 2 has not been confirmed, we are already aware of what will occur after that. The first eleven episodes of the anime were broadcast in Japan between April 14 and June 23, 2011.
On August 31, 2013, an animated film made its debut in theatres across Japan. Unfortunately, it seems the anime won’t return for quite some time, if at all possible.
