Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Are in the Midst of Wedding Preparations: Venue, Officiant!
This weekend, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are scheduled to remarry during a lavish three-day ceremony at his expansive house in Riceboro, Georgia.
The 50-year-old actor and the 53-year-old singer tied the knot in the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas at midnight last month.
This weekend’s celebrations will highlight the couple’s 20-year journey to the altar. Upon arrival, staff personnel was also observed checking the IDs of the drivers.
The initial wedding of Affleck and Lopez was attended by a small number of guests, including three of their children. However, their forthcoming wedding will be a grander occasion.
The Venue
Affleck initially purchased his huge Georgia estate in 2003, during his relationship with Lopez. In 2018, the Oscar-winning actor offered the property for $8.9 million but removed it from the market in 2020 when it failed to sell.
The estate consists of three buildings that overlook the Newport River and is situated on the Hampton Island preserve about an hour outside of Savannah.
The central plantation-style mansion has 6,000 square feet of living area, four bedrooms, 25-foot-tall Doric columns, and a porch with a wraparound design.
In addition to the main residence, there is a smaller cottage for entertaining and a guest house with five bedrooms and three master suites.
Reportedly, Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Drea de Matteo are among the wedding guests who will spend the weekend in the 10,000-square-foot lodge known as the Oyster House.
The Officiant
Life coach and former monk Jay Shetty will officiate the weekend wedding of Affleck and Lopez.
In January 2021, the British native and Lopez collaborated on an episode of the YouTube series “Couch Conversations.”
In March of 2021, the actress featured on Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast, joining a long list of his other celebrity guests, including the late Kobe Bryant, Gwyneth Paltrow, Khloe Kardashian, and Alicia Keys.
Later, Lopez requested Shetty to officiate four weddings during the press tour for her romantic comedy “Marry Me” in 2022.
Shetty has previous experience as a celebrity wedding officiant, having performed the ceremony for Lily Collins and director Charlie McDowell a year ago.
Wedding Ceremonies
The wedding weekend celebration will begin with a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, followed by the ceremony on Saturday. The festivities will conclude on Sunday with a barbecue.
During their stay, guests may be treated to yoga classes and a stunning fireworks display, according to Fox News Digital. The couple spent twenty years planning their three-day wedding weekend.
Affleck and Lopez were originally scheduled to wed in September 2003, but they postponed their wedding with only a few days’ notice. After two years together, the famously nicknamed “Bennifer” couple canceled their engagement in early 2004.
Later, he wed Jennifer Garner, age 50, with whom he shares children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, age 10. After 13 years of marriage, Affleck and Garner split in 2015 and formalized their divorce in 2018.
Lopez married Marc Anthony, 53, in 2004, but they separated in 2014. They are the parents of 14-year-old twins Max and Emme.
In March 2021, after the “On the Floor” singer canceled her engagement to Alex Rodriguez, she and Affleck restarted their relationship. In April 2022, Lopez announced that the couple had become engaged for the second time.
