Johnny Depp is the Moonman Making a Surprise Visit at the MTV Video Music Awards!
At the MTV Video Music Awards presentation that took place on Sunday night at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, Johnny Depp surprised everyone by making an appearance as the coveted Moonman.
During his brief appearance on the live television show, the actor, who is now 59 years old, descended from the ceiling while dressed in the recognizable astronaut uniform.
According to People, Depp made a joke about how he “needed the work” as he flew above the audience in a white suit with the shield of his mask lowered to reveal his face. He was wearing a mask.
Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and BLACKPINK all took home trophies during the evening, which marked the first time since 2019 that the live show was broadcast.
It wasn’t the only opportunity for Depp to have a bright moment during the show; he also made an appearance after the commercial break and said, “Hey VMAs, let’s get back to the f—-ing music, shall we?”
“The actor who played Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean” appeared to be playing the role of a post-commercial host when he flew in once more later in the telecast and reminded the audience that he was available for birthdays, weddings, bat mitzvahs, and anything else the audience might require. Oh, and I work in the dental field.”
It is not his first time working with MTV by any means, as he has received five Movie Awards over the years, including the MTV Generation Award in 2012 and the “Best Villain” award for his portrayal in “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” This will not be his first time working with MTV, either.
After winning his first Moonman in 2004 for “The Curse of the Black Pearl,” he won back-to-back statues in 2007 and 2008 for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” and “At World’s End.” He also received his first Moonman in 2004 for “Best Male Performance.”
Kane Brown made history when he became the first male country musician to perform at the ceremony. He also spoke with Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview about how happy he was to be at the Video Music Awards.
“They asked me to be a part of such a legendary concert, and the fact that they did so makes me feel like I’ve been given a great honor. I can’t divulge too much information at this time, but I can say that they should anticipate it to be unlike anything they’ve experienced before “In reference to his impending performance, he stated.
After a hiatus of several years, singer Fergie made her return to the stage to perform alongside Jack Harlow, whose song “First Class” features a sample of Fergie’s song “Glamorous” from 2006.
Lizzo’s electrifying performance of “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” caused everyone, including Taylor Swift, to leap out of their seats. Later, as she was accepting the award for Video for Good, Lizzo made a political statement when she implored her supporters to exercise their right to vote and “make changes to laws that are enslaving us.”
