Who Survived And Who Went Home After Premiere Night On Disney+ ‘Dancing With The Stars’?
Monday marked the start of the 31st season of Dancing with the Stars, and it did it in an unusual way: by asking fans to click a watch button on Disney+ at 5 p.m./ 8 p.m.
If you “tune in” any earlier, you will receive a reminder – NO, it’s at 8:00 p.m. ET, buddy! Return when it is time. This is the new reality for dance aficionados who formerly viewed their favorite competition show on ABC.
Aside from the epidemic, the live, two-hour broadcast of DWTS began as it had in the past, with a large opening number, an enthusiastic (though casually dressed) studio audience, and a huge arrival by host Tyra Banks. Season 19 Champion Alfonso Ribiero is now providing much-needed assistance with the hosting duties by tossing softball questions from the Sky Box.
Here’s What Transpired on the First Night:
The couple Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd. The star from Sex and the City greeted his two-time champion dancing partner with flowers and caution that he can only dance after consuming tequila or whisky.
While doing the cha-cha, he was really sober, so use your imagination if you missed the show. “I need you to simply breathe. What is lacking is this. You must relax and take a deep breath, stated judge Carrie Ann Inaba. 18 of 40 possible points.
Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki. Former Jersey Shore cast member claims he feels out of place in the ballroom. He appears to be considerably more at ease stripping with the Chippendales in Las Vegas, where he resides.
Perhaps he should have removed his shirt during his salsa, as his performance lacked heat. “I don’t get it, Vinny,” stated judge Len Goodman. “Of all the dances, this is the only club dance you have not shown me. It was difficult since your legs were overly bent. I wanted you to come out and knock me off my feet.” 17 of 40 possible points
Jesse James Decker and Alan Bersten. The country singer admits to being a longtime admirer of Dancing With the Stars but expressed skepticism about her chances because she was expelled from dance class as a child. Her cha to “Sweet Home Alabama” did not offend the judges, thankfully. “You went out and made the sale. “The quality of the performance was quite high,” remarked Goodman. Twenty out of forty is the score.
The two individuals are Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov. The former Real Housewives star explained that she is participating in Dancing with the Stars so that people can see the real Teresa, not the one who went to prison for fraud. She has also been seeing a therapist learn how to avoid being triggered.
I suppose this is wonderful news for the judges. Anyway, her tango to “We Found Love” wasn’t terrible, but the way she glanced at the ceiling was bizarre. “I saw you staring up a little bit. “Think horizontally, not vertically or horizontally,” stated judge Derek Hough. The score is 20 out of 30.
Champion and Burke are Cheryl. Ten years ago, Champion persuaded the former Good Morning America weatherman to join the show, so he was ecstatic to find that Champion was his colleague.
Champion debuted in the ballroom by dancing the foxtrot to “Tiny Dancer” within a mist of dry ice as a gay man attempting to move “out of his comfort zone.” “That was very delicate and nice. You were first a little anxious,” remarked Inaba. Twenty out of forty is the score.
The individuals Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel. The former Charlie’s Angels star reminded us that she is 71 years old, but she was happy to find that Van Amstel, who has been away from the show for seven seasons, is now her partner. Ladd stated that she is not a dancer and was cautious with her cha cha, indicating that he had his work cut out for him.
However, she has amazing wheels, so she is almost there! “Cheryl Ladd has swagger! You have an air of sophistication. “I believe the routine may have been too simple for you,” judge Bruno Tonioli stated. The score is 21 out of 40.
The individuals are Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater. The 90210 actor apparently has a fear of dancing. Similarly to an “irrational phobia. Something in my head prevents me from moving in any way.” Then, by all means, join Dancing with the Stars. What possibly could go wrong? Perhaps his first quickstep to “Dancing With Myself” “Was chaotic and frantic. Goodman stated, “you just came out and sailed over the floor.” The score is 21 out of 40.
Joseph Baena and Daniella Karagach. The son of Arnold Schwarzenegger was fortunate to obtain the champion from the previous year as a companion. He paid tribute to his absent father by flexing his muscles at the beginning of his jive and performing a burpee at the end.
“We all get bicep envy! However, your musicality was quite good. You did not weigh much. I’m telling you, you’ll be back,” remarked Tonioli. 23 of forty points.
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev. The majority of viewers will likely not recognize D’Amelio, a YouTuber with her own family show. However, producers appeared to relish the fact that both mom D’Amelio and her far more renowned daughter Charli are appearing on the show. D’Amelio began the family’s performances with a cha cha to “Lady Marmalade.” Put all of your energy, thinking, and interpretation into each step. You must convey your personality through your body,” explained Tonioli. The score is 24 out of 40.
The pair of Jordan Sparks and Brandon Armstrong The platinum-selling recording singer said that she won American Idol at age 19 and had a successful singing career.
A mirror ball trophy was the only thing she lacked in her life. She began the evening with a stunning cha cha to “I Want to Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston. Hough remarked, “Jordan, you have a wonderful presence on the dance floor.” “That midsection split, gal! I noticed that. That was incredible!” The score is 26 out of 40.
Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart. The CODA actor wishes to demonstrate that “deaf people can also dance.” (Oh, we were aware. Who could forget the champion of Season 22? Durant, dressed in neon green, performed a tango that garnered tremendous praise. “You moved effectively across the floor. Goodman said, “I can’t wait to watch you grow as the season progresses.” The score is 27 out of 40.
Witney Carson and Wayne Brady. The host of Let’s Make a Deal wants to make his grandmother proud. His cha cha began with a tremendous pop and lock that quickly served as a warning to his fellow competitors: Brady is coming for that mirror ball prize.
“Welcome to the dance floor of Wayne! The performance level has skyrocketed. Tonioli stated, “You have it and you know what to do with it.” Obtain a 29 out of 40.
Shangela and Gleb Savchenko. Let’s hear it for the agents of change! Shangela claimed that, in addition to being the first drag queen to appear on DWTS, she will perform all rehearsals in drag (her pronouns are he/him). Finally, two men are dancing together beneath the mirror ball! If only it had not taken 31 seasons and a new digital home for genuine inclusion to occur. Hough remarked, “You have so much energy, so much strength, and so much charisma.” “Well done.” The score is 28 out of 40.

The dancers are Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy. It is customary for Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise contestants to appear on Dancing With the Stars. Like her predecessors, Windey has experience in hoofing.
Her jive revealed that she has no plans to return home soon. “In my opinion, that was the best dance of the evening thus far. So precise and pristine, said Hough. “Your rotation was flawless.” The score is 28 out of 40.
Sasha Farber and Selma Blair. The veteran actress was diagnosed with MS in August of 2018, so stiffness and balance issues will make competing difficult. However, the judges were moved by her predicament and fortitude, and they provided her with significant help. “How wonderful to see you here! You performed true magic tonight. “It was exquisite,” stated Tonioli. The score is 28 out of 40.
The authors are Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas. The daughter of Heidi D’Amelio and social media superstar has earned millions of followers on TikTok due to her elegant dances.
Her cha cha was the closing dance of the evening because she is also a natural in front of the camera. “Season 31 became quite hot very quickly. It’s as though I witnessed 20 distinct people dancing! You were very incredible,” stated Inaba. Notation: 32 out of 40.
