Who was J.R. Ridinger?
J.R. Ridinger founded Market America in the 1990s, at a time when technology and computers were entering the picture. Back in the day, he felt that everything was done in an antiquated manner, so he considered using advanced technology to achieve better results.
At the time, the businessman began to consider how he could restructure his marketing strategy in order to significantly reduce costs. “I realized early on that the grind was really in place to enrich the company you worked for rather than yourself,” he said in an interview with Prime View.

“For most companies, people are just numbers, mere data to be managed and manipulated,” Ridinger continued. I didn’t want to be a part of that, so I set out to create my own business opportunity that would turn the industry on its head.”
“By the late ’80s/early ’90s, I had become disillusioned with the state of mass marketing and spent a great deal of time and effort analyzing and identifying problems and solutions, which eventually led to the creation of Market America Worldwide and the UnFranchise Business,” he continued.
