Gossip Girl Season 2 Release Date: Cast, Plot, Trailer, and Everything You Need to Know!
Gossip Girl is an American teen drama that is streamed on HBO Max. It was created by Joshua Safran. It is a continuation and a stand-alone sequel to the same-named CW TV show, which is based on a series of books by Cecily von Ziegesar. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who helped make the first series, are executive producers on this one, as well as Safran, who was also an executive producer on the first series and runs the show.
Kristen Bell, who played the voice of Gossip Girl, an anonymous, all-knowing blogger, in the first season, is the voice of the show. Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Tavi Gevinson, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zión Moreno, and Savannah Lee Smith lead a group of actors in the show.
What is the Storyline of Gossip Girl Season 2?
The creators of the new Gossip Girl, Kate Keller and the other teachers at Constance Billiard and St. Jude, released all the anonymous tips they had received in a spreadsheet and disclosed the identity of everyone who submitted them at the end of the first season finale. They made a clearly erratic gesture, but they did it to mark the end of their tenure as Gossip Girl.
She offers to send GG all the information she has on everyone, with the caveat that not all of it will be accurate. After being severely mistreated by Camila, Monet’s mother, Kate accepts Julien’s proposal and tweets something that will not be disclosed until season 2. Though only time will tell, we have a sneaking suspicion that this subplot may cause even more mayhem in the UES.
Joshua Safran claims that season 2 will resemble the original CW show more than season 1 did in an interview with Teen Vogue. According to him, “if folks didn’t finish the first season or for whatever reason prefer a vibe that’s more reminiscent of the original, it’s definitely there.” It is in fact bigger, quicker, meaner, and funnier.
Before season 2 was formally announced, Safran discussed his ideas for the show’s future. He told Harper’s Bazaar, “I definitely would love to keep the show running. “I built it so that each season is equivalent to a semester, to avoid the issue the first show encountered, which was that by Season 3, they had to enroll in college.
Cast of Gossip Girl Season 2
The voice of Gossip Girl in both the reboot and the original series, Kristen Bell, is anticipated to return. And we should also hope so since without her, it really wouldn’t be the same.
For season 2, additional characters will appear, including:
- Whitney Peak as Zoya Lott
- Jordan Alexander as Julien Calloway
- Eli Brown as Otto ‘Obi’ Bergmann IV
- Thomas Doherty as Max Wolfe
- Emily Alyn Lind as Audrey Hope
- Evan Mock as Akeno ‘Aki’ Menzies
- Tavi Gevinson as Kate Keller
- Savannah Smith as Monet de Haan
- Zion Moreno as Luna L
Some of the original Gossip Girl cast members made cameo appearances in season 1, including Eleanor Waldorf (played by Margaret Colin), Cyrus Rose (Wallace Shawn), Nelly Yuki (Yin Chang), and Milo (Azhy Robertson), the son of Georgina Sparks. It appears that there will be more appearances from these actors in season 2.

Where Can I Watch Season 2 of the Gossip Girl?
Since the Gossip Girl revival is an HBO Original series, you’ll need a membership to the HBO Max streaming service in order to watch season two when it debuts on December 1. The same could be said for season 2 as season 1 was also accessible to watch on The CW, the network that first broadcast the original Gossip Girl, as well as on The CW’s internet channels.
Sky and HBO have a programming agreement for HBO Originals in the UK, but the BBC has acquired the Gossip Girl revival.

How Many Episodes Will There Be in Season 2 of Gossip Girl?
The Gossip Girl reboot’s first season had 12 episodes, the first six of which aired before a midseason break. Although the number of episodes for season two has not yet been determined, we anticipate it to be about the same. We would anticipate another midseason break as well.
Although he has stated he is currently not permitted to reveal it, Joshua Safran is aware of the episode number. There were 121 episodes in all of the original show’s six seasons. We’re hopeful the revival will have the same length, but for now, all we know is that there will be a second season.
