Wednesday Release Date: A Supernatural Mystery Series is Going to Release on Netflix!

0

Wednesday is an upcoming American supernatural mystery comedy TV show based on the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. It is about a girl coming of age and dealing with supernatural things. Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Tim Burton came up with the idea for the movie.
Jenna Ortega plays the main character, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Gwendoline Christie play supporting roles. The scary Wednesday, Netflix’s portrayal of the eccentric family with the oldest daughter, is drawing closer to its debut. Tim Burton, who specializes in spooky but entertaining remakes of well-known characters, is in charge of the project.

What is Wednesday Based on?

Wednesday is partially based on the New Yorker cartoons created by Charles Addams in 1938 and popularised in the 1960s by the sitcom adaption The Addams Family, like the movies, TV shows, and stage adaptations that came before it.

The latter’s popularity led to the family’s escapades becoming an instant franchise: A cartoon series debuted in the 1970s, then came The Addams Family, a live-action film that was followed by Addams Family Values in 1993.

The tradition was carried by both the live-action and animated incarnations of the family, and in 2010, a Broadway musical called The Addams Family Musical debuted to mixed reviews from critics. Finally, in 2019 and 2021, two animated movies were released. The foundation of Wednesday is this huge cannon.

What is the Plot of Wednesday?

This time, Wednesday will be a teenager as she goes through this story about coming of age. The director of the YA/Family series at Netflix, Teddy Biaselli, has this to say about what the writers have planned:

Wednesday Release Date

“When we first heard what Al Gough and Miles Millar had to say about Wednesday, it hit us right in the heart, like an arrow from a crossbow. They got the tone, spirit, and characters right, but they also gave us a new way to get into the story. The upcoming eight-episode series is about Wednesday’s time as a student at the strange Nevermore Academy. It is a mystery that involves sleuthing and the supernatural.”

“Wednesday tries to get a handle on her growing psychic ability, stop a monster killing spree that has scared the town, and solve the supernatural mystery that her parents were caught up in 25 years ago, all while figuring out how to deal with her new, complicated relationships with the strange and different people in her school.”

So, it looks like we’ll see Wednesday grow and change (and get amazing psychic powers), and we’ll also get to see the dark genius do some detective work. It’s exciting to hear that this won’t be a typical Addams Family story, but something both new and familiar.
