White Noise Release Date: Adam Driver is a Hitler Studies Professor in White Noise!
Apocalyptic black comedy White Noise, a 2022 movie written and directed by Noah Baumbach, is based on Don DeLillo’s 1985 book of the same name. The movie is Baumbach’s eighth narrative feature and his first that isn’t based on one of his own original stories.
Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Raffey Cassidy, André Benjamin, Alessandro Nivola, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Don Cheadle are among the movie’s prominent cast members. On August 31, 2022, White Noise made its international premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.
What Could Be the Possible Plot of White Noise?
Jack Gladney is a professor at the College-on-the-Hill who studies Hitler. He is married to Babette and has four children or stepchildren. “The Airborne Toxic Event,” a terrible train accident that spreads chemical waste over his town, breaks his family apart.
Like the book, the movie is about the big shot professor Jack Gladney and his family. He teaches Hitler studies. He and his pill-popping wife Babbette are both on their fourth marriage, and they have a child together as well as children from their previous relationships.
At first, the movie looks like a family drama, but things soon take a dark turn when an “Airborne Toxic Event” hits their Midwestern town, forcing them to flee the chemical fallout.
Who is in the Cast of White Noise?
As Jack, Adam Driver is the star of the White Noise cast. The driver has previously collaborated with Baumbach numerous times, most notably on The Meyerowitz Stories, Marriage Story, While We’re Young, and Frances Ha. For his roles in BlackKklansman and Marriage Story, actor Adam Driver received Oscar nominations. Some of his other notable films include House of Gucci, The Last Duel, Logan Lucky, and a little thing called Star Wars.
For the role of Babette, Jack’s wife, Greta Gerwig has been cast. In recent years, Gerwig has focused more on her work behind the camera (Little Women, Lady Birdy, and the next Barbie film), but she has also acted in several films for Baumbach, including Mistress America, Frances Ha, and Greenberg. In real life, Gerwig and Baumbach are partners.
Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim, Anne Boleyn), Don Cheadle (Black Monday, Avengers: Endgame), Raffey Cassidy (Vox Lux, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), May Nivola (The Pursuit of Love), Sam Nivola (Maestro), Lars Eidinger (Irma Vep, Babylon Berlin), and André Benjamin, aka André 3000, are also featured in the cast (Semi-Pro, High Life).
Is There Any Trailer of White Noise?

All of this happens, though, after the film’s world premiere on August 31, 2022, at the Venice Film Festival. White Noise is eligible for this year’s Oscars because it was shown in theatres before it was available to stream.
First Reviews and Responses to White Noise
Prior to the movie’s wider distribution, an audience score for White Noise has not yet been uploaded to Rotten Tomatoes, where it currently has an 86% rating. The majority of the reviews are positive, and they highlight both Driver and Gerwig’s performances.
The movie received a five-star rating from The Guardian, which termed it “a dazzling, energizing spectacle.” The adaptation, on the other hand, wasn’t as well received by Variety, who referred to it as a “book of ideas” that didn’t quite work on the big screen.
