In the US, a full release schedule has been made public. The new season will air two episodes a week on HBO and HBO Max from Monday, December 5th, to Monday, December 26th. The UK release date, on the other hand, has not yet been set. After a break caused by COVID delays, filming for the new season started in 2021 and ended in November.

What is the Plot of His Dark Materials Season 3?

In His Dark Materials, James McAvoy plays Lord Asriel in a new world. Will and Lyra eventually get back together and go to the Land of the Dead to find Roger. Meanwhile, Mrs. Coulter teams up with Asriel to fight the angels. The story ends with a big showdown between the forces of heaven and earth, which leads to a final tragedy that we won’t give away here.

Production And Casting Details
Philip Pullman wrote the three His Dark Materials books between 1995 and 2000. They were well received by critics and readers, and in 2007, The Golden Compass was made into a movie based on them. Fans of the trilogy criticized the movie for watering down parts of the story that were critical of religion, and some religious groups criticized the book for having themes that they thought were against religion.
Six of the eight scripts for a third series based on The Amber Spyglass had been written by November 2020. In December 2020, the commission for a series of eight episodes was confirmed, and production began in early 2021. Between May 24 and October 31, 2021, the third season was filmed.
On March 8, 2018, it was announced that Dafne Keen would be playing Lyra in the series and that Tom Hooper would be directing. The lead role of Lee Scoresby would go to Lin-Manuel Miranda.
