This is Us Season 6 Ending Explained
The This is Us finale is divided across three timelines: flashback, current day, and a brief flash-forward scenario.
Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) are enjoying a day with the Big Three when they were children in the narrative set in the 1990s, resolving to spend their time doing nothing but living in the moment because they can.
The episode begins with Jack inquiring about a scar on Rebecca‘s brow that he had only recently discovered, which she reveals she got while being pushed on the swings by her father (remember this for later).
Meanwhile, the Big Three are in sadness following the death of their mother. Randall is concerned about the speech he has been trying to write all night as they prepare for her burial. Randall manages to remain calm as he envisions their “peaceful future” with the support of wife Beth.

Expected Cast and Characters of This is Us Season 7?
Milo Ventimiglia played Jack Pearson and Mandy Moore played Rebecca Pearson in the TV series. Sterling K. Brown (Randall Pearson), Justin Hartley (Kevin Pearson), Chrissy Metz (Kate Pearson), Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson), Chris Sullivan (Toby Damon), Eris Baker (Tess Pearson), Faithe Herman (Annie Pearson), and Jon Huertas (Miguel Pearson) are all possible candidates.
What Could We Expect From This is Us Season 7?
We’ve seen glimpses of Jack and Hailey growing up in flash forwards since season 4, and we got to see a bit of what they looked like growing up thanks to these last few episodes flashing across Rebecca’s dying years.
So, if the programme were to return for a seventh season, we would most likely be following the lives of the original Big Three‘s offspring. We’d get to learn more about Nick and Franny growing up with both parents and their significant others, and possibly even see their adult selves and how their lives turned out.
We’d also see more of Jack and Hailey, which would be wonderful because we haven’t seen Hailey connect with her parents or family members, and we just saw a peek of Jack meeting with them after we knew that Kate and Toby divorced and remarried.
Not to mention Deja’s pregnancy, which will allow us to observe her relationship with Malik as they become parents, as well as how Annie and Tess fare as aunts.
It would be interesting to see the original Big Three become grandparents and observe how their lives have evolved after their mother died.
It would also be nice to see Jack and Rebecca‘s heritage passed down through generations of Pearsons. However, there is only so much pain we can bear as fans, and who knows if we’d be able to bear losing Kevin, Kate, and Randall after witnessing them grow up for the past six years.
