Deliberations in the case began in mid-November but quickly reached a stalemate that could not be broken. Two of the women accused the Church of Scientology, to which they and Mr Masterson belonged, of discouraging them from reporting the alleged rapes.

Danny Masterson’s Trials

Danny Masterson‘s rape trial ended in a mistrial on Wednesday (November 30) after jurors claimed they couldn’t decide whether the actor was innocent or guilty.

After hearing weeks of testimony, including from the three women who accused Masterson of rape, the Los Angeles jury deadlocked.

The panel’s failure to reach a decision left the women’s claims that the actor, best known for his role on the sitcom “That ’70s Show,” violently assaulted them at his Hollywood Hills home in the early 2000s unresolved.

The jurors’ disagreements were evident in the final votes they cast before informing Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine Olmedo that they would be unable to convict or acquit.

Only two of the 12 jurors decided to convict Masterson on one of the rape allegations, while four voted to convict on the second and five voted to convict on the third.
