Recap of Rick and Morty Season 6, Episode 6

Four times in the first minute, I probably laughed. I lost track of the number of items after that. This episode is an excellent illustration of why this programme is the ideal parody of contemporary society.

It’s unfortunate that there aren’t more programmes that rely on humour as frequently as this one does. This episode was absolutely spectacular.

The entire episode made me chuckle, from making fun of people who misuse the term “projecting” to explaining their concept of virtue signalers to violently throwing a rock at a vehicle and then fleeing when you see the reverse lights.

This is a feat that entertainment rarely accomplishes. I will never forget that this episode is one of my favourites!

Details Recap of Rick and Morty’s Season 6, Episode 6

At least for its first four seasons, Rick and Morty was the smartest and funniest show on TV. Still, the quality has been getting worse over the last few years, to the point where a “good” episode is like this one: nothing terrible happens, but nothing funny or memorable either.

I still need to find out if the drop in quality is because of new, less-skilled staff writers who don’t understand the show’s themes and sense of humour or if Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have just lost interest and are too busy with other projects.

One small example of the details and consistency that have been lost because of these changes is that in this episode, Rick’s famous portal gun, which in previous seasons has been shown as something aliens from faraway galaxies have done everything they can to get their hands on…

In this episode, some dinosaurs from the past who only show up in this episode have a better one, which they give to Rick and say they can make work in some way.

The show’s current writers need to be smarter and come up with a good reason why the dinosaurs know Rick’s gun doesn’t work and can make their own while acting like it’s no big deal.

Or maybe never use it again in the show. It is brought up, dealt with, and forgotten in less than 30 seconds, all for the sake of a joke that doesn’t work.

In the same way that the terrible writers of the Loki TV show made the infinity stones in the Marvel movies less important by having the characters have drawers full of them as a joke, this takes away from the importance of the earlier seasons of the show.

This once-great show keeps getting worse because of this kind of careless, short-sighted, narrow-minded, and tone-deaf writing.

What Happened at the End of Season 5 of Rick and Morty?

Evil Morty, a Morty version that comes after Season 5, destroys the Central Finite Curve. A hard-to-live-in set of different worlds where Rick is the smartest person alive and constantly bothers Morty.

Evil Morty runs away to a universe where there are no Ricks to hurt him, and he turns the teleport gun of the show’s Rick (also known as Rick C-137) into his own portal gun.

It was interesting to see how he and the show’s Morty, who is not from Planet C-137, reacted to the end of Season 5.

The only place to watch it is on Netflix. So, if you already have a Netflix subscription and want to watch this episode, you can do so for free. There will be no extra costs for the show.

Conclusion

Even though this show thrives on humour and escape, you might not always be entertained by outrageous antics and shady plot twists if you don’t connect with the characters. Let’s just hope that season six is able to balance the show’s inherent absurdity with these ground-breaking character beats going forward.
