Episode 16 of The Eminence in Shadow will be out next week. The Eminence in Shadow is a Japanese light novel written and drawn by Daisuke Aizawa.
In May 2018, it started to be posted in parts on the website Shsetsuka ni Nar, which lets people write and publish their own novels. The series was then bought by Enterbrain, which has been putting it out since November 2018.
In episode 15, we see that Cid dresses up as a weak person to get ready for the Bushin Festival. He then beats everyone, which amazes the crowd. Gamma uses magic slime makeup to make Cid look like a Mundane Mann, a poor knight who died poor.
A foreign knight named Annerose who fought in the Goddess Trial sees Cid in disguise and is surprised that he is still alive. She sees the battle and notices that Cid is not hurt.
Cid finds out that the most popular characters at the festival are Iris, Rose, Annerose, Quinton, and an unknown Dark Knight. Rose tells Cid that her father wants her to marry Perv Asshat and forces her to take off the sword.
Cid tells Rose to do what makes her happy and tries to relax for once. Goldy Gilded is a skilled but annoyingly cocky knight. He tells Skel how to tell which warriors will win, but he is upset when Cid wins a fight without moving as much as Mundane.

This episode is mostly about getting ready for the Bushin Festival. Cid has made plans because he wants to have fun at this event. He thinks that it’s fun to act like you’re weak, enter a contest, and win it all by surprise. Even though he is a strong character, sometimes you get the feeling that he is just a child at heart who wants to be a protagonist like everyone else.
He needs to pay attention to the role of a weak person, so he goes to Gamma, who has almost all the answers. The woman makes him a fake identity and gives him the name “Average Youngman.”
Cid causes trouble with another participant on purpose to make people doubt him even more because he is proud of the things that make him different.
He meets Annerose, who is a member of the Vegalta Seven. She asked a very experienced warrior to help her finish the Goddess Trial. She might join Cid’s harem, but we don’t know for sure yet. Rose Oriana, who is also at this festival, is also a part of the story.
