It’s been almost a year since the last episode of Rooster Teeth’s science fantasy anime-like show, and fans can’t wait for answers following the emotional cliffhanger that was Volume 8.

RWBY Volume 9 Release Date
After a longer-than-usual delay, it has been revealed that RWBY Volume 9 will premiere on February 18th.
So far, new volumes as RWBY seasons are known have premiered in the summer or fall, so this will be earlier in the year than typical. However, given the extended gap between Volumes 8 and 9, new episodes are desperately needed.

RWBY Volume 9: About
RWBY is an American animated scientific fantasy series developed by the late Monty Oum and produced by Rooster Teeth Productions.
Set in the imaginary country of Remnant, which combines modern and fairy tale aesthetics, it follows a group of young people who train to become fighters known as “Huntsmen” and “Huntressess” to safeguard the world from Grimm monsters.
The title of the anime-influenced show is derived from the initials of its four major characters: Ruby, a very young Huntress in training with hitherto unseen powers, and her comrades; Weiss, a rich heiress attempting to carve her own path, Blake, a scholarly teen with a dark secret, and Yang, Ruby’s older half-sister.
What begins as a mainly lighthearted magical school narrative about young people overcoming monsters in wonderfully choreographed battles while building friendships and having their first romances quickly transforms into a much darker story you won’t be able to put down.

Volume 9 is scheduled to pick up where the last volume left off. Cinder has stolen the lamp relic and plans to utilize it for her own gain, giving the bad guys another triumph. Ironwood has devolved into full-fledged paranoia and dictatorship, while Winter – now the Winter Maiden – attempts to intervene.
Atlas is about to be destroyed, while Ruby and her crew have fallen into the unknown and are now stranded in a strange world dominated by a gigantic tree.
Volume 9 will most likely focus on the main characters’ attempts to return to their world and safeguard the last remaining relics.
Rooster Teeth’s official teaser, released in early July 2022, reveals that the world Ruby and her pals have found themselves in is more whimsical than previously believed.
While it is evident that they will continue to fight to return home, it looks like they will first have to confront their own identities and how they have changed as a result of the constant conflicts and losses.

Rooster Teeth also released a short movie depicting Ruby’s first experiences in Ever After, the weird realm she fell into, in addition to the official teaser.
True to its fairytale moniker and the series’ overall fairytale premise, the video portrays Ruby, who has no idea what happened to all of her pals, befriending a talking mouse.
This video is much more colorful and whimsical than the dystopian feelings of Volumes 8 and 9, which could indicate a nice change in Volume 9 if the plot also begins at some time.
For now, what we’ve seen of Volume 9 is simply beautiful!
Where Can I Watch RWBY?
Unlike previous seasons, RWBY Volume 9 will be available exclusively on Crunchyroll for the time being.
Subscribers to Rooster Teeth’s own platform, Rooster Teeth FIRST, may watch all previous RWBY episodes there, with the first several seasons collected into several-hour-long movies rather than distinct episodes – ideal for binge-watching.
Some fans are disappointed that the new season will not be available on Rooster Teeth FIRST until February 2024, a year later. This was most likely due to financial constraints, however, the team invites viewers to continue supporting the show through Crunchyroll.
RWBY is Produced by Which Studio?
Rooster Teeth Productions is in charge of RWBY. Monty Oum, a web-based animator, and writer created and animated it. Rooster Teeth continued to produce RWBY after Oum’s death.
The newest episodes have been delayed due to production challenges and the ongoing pandemic, but we expect the same crew of writers, animators, and voice actors to return for Volume 9.
