Olivia Culpo’s “Clawfoot” Performance Left Francesca Eastwood Speechless; She Was the “Hero”
Though Francesca Eastwood plays the lead in the suspenseful film Clawfoot, in her opinion, Olivia Culpo, her costar, steals the show.
“She would be the real hero in the story,” Eastwood, 30, said exclusively to Us Weekly of Culpo, 32. She truly astounded me. She performed admirably.”
Clawfoot follows Janet (Eastwood), a homemaker whose husband vanishes for no apparent reason. Janet is mentally tormented by contractor Leo (Milo Gibson). Janet turns to friend Tasha (Culpo), who ends up being her co-conspirator, as she battles Leo for her life.
Although Culpo’s character is a “significant part” of the movie, Eastwood acknowledged that it was unexpected to see her do well in a darker role. (Culpo has previously acted in the comedies The Swing of Things and I Feel Pretty.)
The actress described Culpo to Us, saying, “She’s such an angel in real life and had such a heart of gold.” Thus, watching her portray a character who is just not [like] her was a lot of fun. It was quite enjoyable.
Culpo’s “comedic timing really blew me away,” according to Eastwood, and their two personas “really complimented each other” on film.
She went on, “She’s such a lovely person to work with,” saying that Culpo had “really” brought Tasha to life.
Despite their antagonistic roles, Eastwood saw that Gibson, 33, and her had a connection as well.
Working with him was really simple in some ways. In a way, I think of us as kindred spirits,” she said.
The two, who are the offspring of well-known actors, became even closer because of their stunt work on the mystery thriller. (Milo is the son of Mel Gibson; Francesca is one of the eight children of Clint Eastwood.)
“We performed some stunts and stuff together without the use of stunt doubles, and it was a lot of fun to be able to kind of do that,” Francesca remarked. “I had never performed such a feat on myself. We did not have doubles, but we did have choreographers and stuntmen.
She remembered that in order to “make it look as good as possible,” she spent a lot of time with Milo, which resulted in a “really fun” experience.
“It’s a good friend now,” Francesca continued. “He’s really awesome. I find there’s something really captivating about him when he’s on camera.
Even though Francesca has amazing recollections from the set, she told Us that her parents’ approval determines whether a project is successful.
The actress described her mother, Frances Fisher, as “the most supportive person I could dream of having,” and added that her father, who is 94 years old, is a “very smart man.”
Even though Francesca and her parents get along so well, she admitted that letting them watch her flicks still causes her stress.
She said, “Their response to my work is always the most nerve-wracking and then thrilling and exciting [part].” “I believe they will enjoy this one. They’ll see the fun in it, I believe. They enjoy it when I act a little crazy.
