After their 2012 divorce, Jennie Garth spoke out about her and her ex-husband Peter Facinelli’s public personas.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 52, opened out about her previous tense relationship with Facinelli, 50, in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday, July 24, regarding her QVC partnership. This came after Facinelli made two appearances on her podcast, “I Choose Me,” in June.

The couple discussed their divorce and coparenting their three children in-depth throughout the episodes.

“From the start, I had this idea in the back of my mind that I would have a talk with Peter when I had the courage to actually follow through on it,” Garth told Us. “It happened with such ease. We haven’t had an easy time, and we’ve been putting on a good front for the outside world, so I was hesitant to ask him the truth.

“It’s been very difficult,” she continued. We felt it was time to finally come clean and inform people that we may experience this evolution and that many other people are in a similar predicament.

Luca, 27, Lola, 21, and Fiona, 17, are the couple’s three daughters. Garth and Facinelli were wed from 2001 to 2012. While Facinelli is engaged to Lily Anne Harrison and the couple have a 21-month-old kid named Jack, Garth married Dave Abrams in 2015.

Regarding her divorce, Garth told to Us Weekly, “It’s something that my family is struggling with and dealing with and learning from all these years.” “We just got together and wanted the discourse to be constructive and beneficial. Furthermore, I had no notion where it would end up.

“I opened it up, and Peter just started talking,” the actress added in jest. He never talks that much, as far as I know. It was, I believe, the first time he had ever truly discussed it, as in, expressed it to someone.

Facinelli officially unblocked Garth on Instagram, she revealed to her listeners over a month after Facinelli’s appearance on her podcast. She declared, “Guys, we are officially friends now,” on an episode of “I Choose Me” that aired on July 1.

A few days later, according to an Instagram post by the actress, Garth, Facinelli, and their girls had a day out on the boat together as a family.

Garth told to Us, “That episode really changed the dynamic in our family in such a great way.” And I didn’t anticipate that. The gifts of life are something you never truly get to witness.

Garth told Us that although readjusting to their relationship after the split was difficult, the two are now getting along better. She even received an invitation to Facinelli’s son’s baptism. “I was unable to attend,” she murmured. “It was a few days ago, but all of my daughters were present.”
