The Grammy award winner was featured on the cover of CR Men recently
Lil Nas X had a tremendous 2019 after securing a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks, winning two Grammy awards and also earning a spot on the coveted Time 100 Next list. The rapper, singer and songwriter is reflecting on being thrust to stardom overnight at the age of 21, and shared all about it in his interview with CR Men that came out on October 9 where he’s also featured in the cover.
On his newfound fame, the “Old Time Road” singer shared his honest thoughts, saying that there are times when he laughs, and then there are times when he cries because he’s still coming to terms with the magnitude of it.
Life after coming out as gay publicly
The rapper came out as gay on twitter in June 2019, and in the interview revealed what happened when he told his family. He said that his dad “said some very Christian things” which included that his homosexuality could be the devil tempting him. Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill said that while it sucked, he still saw it coming.

Despite all that he’s faced and all that he’s yet to face, Lil Nas X is committed to moving forwards in both his career and personal life. He shared that he was dating someone right now. He added that they were not in a relationship yet as it’s been going on and off but he may try to go steady this time.
He’s also aware of what fame has done to his personal life, saying that if he put any guy in a solo picture with him, dating rumours would come up. This happened when he was spotted with his brother at Subway and the headline came that it was his boyfriend.
