We might be getting the movie sooner than we anticipated
We got to see a tiny snippet of Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up when Netflix released a promotional clip of all their 2021 movies.
The movie, which is currently being shot in Boston and nearby locations will be arriving later this year. It’s going to be a comedy and has a stellar star cast. The movie has so far been shot in Boston, Canton, Chicopee, Fall River, Salisbury, Weymouth, and Worcester.
McKay is know for his comedy-centric films with Will Ferrel and has directed movies such as The Big Short, Vice, Anchorman, among many others. Dont Look Up is also going to be a comedy and will be McKay’s first Netflix feature film. Kevin Messick, who worked with McKay on Vice will be working as a co-producer.
We have only received a brief synopsis about the movie, and it reads:
“A pair of astronomers try to warn everyone on Earth that a giant meteorite will destroy the planet in six months.”
JLaw and DiCaprio will be the two astronomers and we haven’t received word of the other cast members’ roles. They will be playing the lead roles, as two low-level scientists who go on a media tour around the world so that they can warn everyone else, but ends up facing an unbelieving and non-cooperative audience.
The Stellar Cast
As for the full cast, it includes: Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, Jonah Hill, Chris Evans, Ariana Grande, Matthew Perry, Rob Morgan, Himesh Patel, Timer Sisley, Ron Parkman, Melanie Lynskey and Kid Cudi. There might even be more. This already looks like the biggest crossover since Avengers: Endgame.
Netflix’s 2021 roster looks excellent and is promising to release at least one movie every week. Aside from Don’t Look Up, a much anticipated Netflix movie will be the Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds-starrer Red Notice.
