Amidst some deserving winners, Golden Globes lacked in diversity earning criticism

The overwhelming award ceremonies have kicked off for the year 2021 this weekend, although the controversial award ceremony, Golden Globes is been delayed as his pride is in jeopardy with the flooding controversies. A group of 87 international journalists from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who had to vote on awards are in question after the Los Angeles Times who have published two articles that uncovered the characters of the journalists.

The voluntary organization claims the members for ethical misconduct. They flew to Paris to support Emily In Paris, a Netflix comedy, which earned two nominations and is also being paid about $2m between 2019 to 2020 by the group.

There has been a lawsuit involved for the same

Kjersti Flaa, a Norwegian journalist filed a lawsuit against HFPA soon after which the LA Times started their investigation. The journalist was denied the membership of the group of journalists and was they also accused him of the culture of corruption.

The judge in charge of the case dismissed the suit because Flaa couldn’t gather any evidence of professional or economic hardship.
