Havoc: Netflix is Adding Another Crime Drama to its Collection Starring Tom Hardy in the Lead
The crime drama will be written and directed by Gareth Evans
Netflix is making deals left and right with talented and award-winning filmmakers, one of then being Gareth Evans (Apostle, Gangs of London). His upcoming project for Netflix will be Havoc, a crime drama starring Tom Hardy (The Revenant, Venom). The movie is currently in development, and will be written and directed by Evans.

Evans’s film history
Aside from his Hollywood projects, Gareth Evans has established himself as an acclaimed director overseas with Indonesian martial arts films like The Raid, The Raid 2 and Merantau, which helped the Indonesian martial art of pencak solar reach a global audience. His critically-acclaimed series Gangs of London starring Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror) and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) further proved his mettle.
Evans’s deal with Netflix has been in development for a while, and Deadline reported that neither parties didn’t want to announce anything until Hardy was finalised for the project. Evans had worked with Netflix before on 2018’s Apostle starring Dan Stevens, Michael Sheen and Lucy Boynton.
Evans will also be serving as a producer for Havoc, on behalf of One More One Productions, along with Ed Talfan for Seven Screen, and Aram Tertzakian for XYZ Films. Hardy will also be a producer.
Havoc story, release date, cast
As per the official Netflix synopsis revealed by Deadline, the story is set after a drug deal gone wrong, and a bruised detective has to fight his way through criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, and uncovering a deep web of corruption and conspiracy running through the entire city.
Aside from Hardy, no other cast details have been release till now.
The movie is scheduled to start production in late June 2021, and will be rolling out sometime in 2022.
