WandaVision is going to be a full-fledged MCU movie by the end, says Paul Bettany

The movie will be starting from sitcom-style to the familiar Marvel action movie

Marvel will be kicking off its Phase 4 with their series WandaVision which is all set to premiere on Disney+ on January 15. Two episodes will be released that day. The story, which is set after the events of Avengers:Endgame will see Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) living a blissful suburban life, or at least that’s what it looks to be at first.

Things get weirder as the story progresses, with the couple slowly realising that not everything is like it seems and how Vision can be alive when he was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. We then see the couple going through multiple realities, in different appearances across different decades.

The series is described as the MCU’s first take on a sitcom, and it is inspired by classics such as The Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy and Bewitched, as seen in various promos. We can understand that Wanda and Vision jump through numerous timelines as some parts show them in black and white, to suit the first ever sitcoms that came out. In fact, the first episode was shot in front of a live studio audience, to pay homage to The Dick Van Dyke Show and to recreate some of the most popular sitcoms, complete with the applause and laugh tracks.

Despite all the love and laughter seen on screen, the tone that accompanies is very eerie and we can understand that there is something off. Wanda and Vision never got their happily ever after, after all. That was confirmed later by Paul Bettany  during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he said that the show will be evolving from the sitcom-style to a full-on MCU action movie.

The greatly anticipated series arrives next week.
