Season 1 had Kamado Tanjiro learning how to be a swordsman to protect his sister Kamado Nezuko, who had become a demon. After undergoing hellish training, he became a demon slayer, an elite swordsman and also learnt one of their powerful Breathing Styles – the water technique.

After making two friends in Zenitsu and Inosuke, Tanjiro and Nezuko set out to cure Nezuko. He soon learns about the existence of Muzan Kibutsuji, the king of demons and the one responsible for Nezuko’s transformation and his family’s death, so Tanjiro decides to slay him and end the terror plaguing Japan.

They soon come across the Hashiras, the ultimate demon slayers who had to be convinced that Nezuko still has humanity left and is not a blood-thirsty demon who had to be killed. Having seen that, the Hashiras provide their assistance.

After season 1, the studio decided to adapt an entire arc into a movie called Mugen Train  or  Infinite Train. It had Tanjiro and party along with the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku. The movie ended with Rengoku saving the entire demon infested train with the help of Tanjiro and team, but died in the process.

From season 2′ trailer, it’s evident that the team is going to Yoshiwara, Japan’s Red Light district and the one to assist them will be the flashy Sound Hashira, Uzui Tengen. The plan was to eliminate the demons infesting Yoshiwara and they will have to do their best to blend in and disguise themselves, and couldn’t let their guard down for a second.

Season two of Demon Slayer didn’t get an exact release date but is expected to come out in 2021.
